Scaling Low-Code for Banking Giants

As the IT backbone of Germany’s Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe, Finanz Informatik operates at massive scale. With a workforce of more than 3,000 employees, nearly EUR 2 billion in annual revenue, and a client base numbering in the hundreds, the organization delivers a broad spectrum of IT services—from software development and data center operations to advisory, training, and ongoing support. To keep pace with growing demand and organizational complexity, Finanz Informatik set out to modernize and streamline its IT service management processes.

To support this transformation, Finanz Informatik built Service Request Plus (SRPlus), a browser-based IT service management solution developed on the Magic xpa Application Platform, enabling rapid development without traditional coding. Once deployed, SRPlus needed to operate in full alignment with the organization’s established SAP ERP environment, making seamless integration a critical requirement. Magic xpi was selected as the centralized integration layer to connect these systems.

Using Magic xpi’s SAP-certified connector, Finanz Informatik achieved reliable, end-to-end integration between SRPlus and SAP across multiple IT landscapes. This approach ensured consistent process execution and data synchronization not only within Finanz Informatik itself, but also across the broader Sparkassen network and its external partners.

The resulting SRPlus platform is now deeply embedded across the organization. It supports daily operations at customer workstations, underpins Finanz Informatik’s internal support teams, and is actively used by strategic partners and key suppliers. Overall, the solution manages more than 45,000 contacts across the savings banks ecosystem. Around 25,000 users are authorized to access the system, with over 7,000 individuals actively using SRPlus each day.
